Parent's Matching Making Corner in Shanghai Parent, Corner, Making, Matching, Shanghai

As a new Shanghanese, I always find some unique scene in Shanghai.
Last week, I was wandering along Nanjing Road. When I came across the People's Park, I saw hundreds of senior people gathering near the inner side of the entrance gate. Many of these senior people were holding some papers in their hands, which I found later were profiles of their daughters or sons.

I was shocked to know that it is a Parent's Matching Making Corner, in which parents are trying to find suitable marriage partner for their children.

What an amazing gathering! You can see hundreds of profile sheets sticked on the trees in the park, it is just like huge market!

yes, that gathering is very very famous in Shanghai after so many mass media repoted it.
I just wonder why there are much more unmarried-daughter-parents there than unmarried-son-parents. Why these 'excellent' female white colloars just can't find excellent male marriage partners?

Yeah, this also happens here in the Central Park of Tianjin. And I guess in every major city of China, there could be one place like this...?

I guess so. Shanghai has not copyright for that. Most Chinese parents are worrying about their children marriage issue.

The biggest filial piety of Chinese pepople is keep unmarried and have no child.

that's why you see so many parents pay much more anxiety than their children

The Female-white-collars are very excellent, they can earn a lot of money,they want to seek a more excellent guy, who are the similar age and earn a lot of money , have a big new house, love her and take care of her, do the whole housework, and can depend on her.
The Male-white-collars are also very excellent. But they want to seek a wife who can do housework,take care the their kid in future, maintain their parents with him. and also, the guys love a beautiful gril, and need the  feelings.
Love need beliving each other,take to the other side to think deeply.
The Female-white-collars wait a excellent guy for long times until they feel  they will not be young any more. so the single who offer a profile sheets to find their suitable marrage .
Chinaese cultures are complexity  from the history. In ancient times, 1000 or 2000 years ago , the people who wanted to marry with someone needing a matchmaker  to relate both sides. they needed to hold a ceremony,making other people aproving rationality of marrage. In the wedding, the bride dressed in red,put on the Jade bangle.the woman are humble. the parents decided their daugter's marrage whom she would married with. when the gril did not marry,her hair were dishevelled.when she was married ,she should  coil up the hair, and with Hair Clasp.If you watch  a cartoon movie named as <Lady General Hua Mu-Lan >, Disney launched. you can understand the chinaese wedding that from the chinaese culture. a marriage between families of equal social rank.
